NOTHING FANCY

 wearing: gray cardigan {giftcard/Modcloth}, geeky glasses necklace {gifted/ModCloth}, chambray button up {$9/Crossroad Trading Co.}, BDG ankle skinnies {$40/Urban Outfitters}, brogues {$35/ASOS}

These days, easy does it completely does it for me.  I can now get ready for class/life in under 20 minutes, and that's a huge feat for someone like me. I don't really care about re-wearing the same shirt or outfit as I did back home. It just seems to matter less, ironic isn't it? I came to Paris, the fashion capital of the world, and yet I care less about the way I look and especially the way I dress. As Audrey Hepburn once said, and my auntie so kindly reminded me, "happy girls are the prettiest girls." I believe it.

Life has been beautiful and the beauty comes from the smallest victories like ordering a crudité and café crème in French. Some days are definitely harder than others but I'm getting by. I'm just counting my blessings and enjoying a slower pace of living. No work? No club activities? Blasphemy! I have never had such a free semester before and I am completely loving it. What am I doing with all of my free time? Netflixing aside I am always trying to figure out what trip I want to take next. So far London and Amsterdam have been booked (which I am TOO stoked about) and now we're working on Spain and Italy. Life is still so unreal, the magic of Paris hasn't worn off yet.

These photos were taken a while ago, forgive me as I have been lazy and extra lazy. Just another day at Musée d'Orsay, admiring the paintings, pointing at sculptured penises, and trying to steal a french baby. Oh, and rocking a side pony. You know, the usual.

This is the story about the little denim vest that just won't quit. Yes, I realize that it's a repeat offender {seen here and here} but I just can't help myself, that little sucker just worms its way into every single outfit I wear! I'm helpless against the seduction of denim but who can blame me right? Denim is just so effortlessly perfect that no justification is needed. Much like Ryan Gosling. And yes I did just compare Ryan Gosling to denim, deal with it.

Threw in that last photo for good measures because silly fishy faces are the best, the absolute best!

Even though I live ten miles outside of San Francisco, it's so hard finding time to explore the beautiful city that I love to brag about so much. Last Saturday, Youri, Amanda and I (and the sock in my bun) spent the afternoon in the Marina and Japantown. For what? For food of course! Ever heard of Red Velvet Chicken and Waffles? Yeah, I didn't know that existed as well but it was a very sweet surprise. Another fun fact, the bathrooms at American Cupcake have pink lights! I couldn't resist snapping a few (hundred) photos with the pretty light. And just two hours later, with my belly full of red velvety goodness, we miso ramen-ed it up at Japantown. Ahh, I wish I could re-eat that day. Food days are the best days.

This is what I wore for my grandma's 80th birthday lunch. My best friend described this outfit as a mix of Aria and Spencer from "Pretty Little Liars," our favorite guilty pleasure. Even being separated by all of middle California, I love our weekly texts filled with "OHMYYGOD," "he's sooo hot!," and "GIRL DON'T GO IN THERE BY YOURSELF!! ARE YOU STUPID?!!" Yeah, things get quite heated over iMessage and our emoji usage is always over-the-top. Anyways, I can totally see what she means, it has aspects of Spencer's favorites with Aria's flair. The blazer, white button-up and corduroy circle skirt has Hasting approval written all over it and the denim vest and floral kicks is totally something that Aria would wear. Guess my love for PLL isn't just for the cray cray story line (and Wren's cute face) after all.

I'm pretty sure my grandma has the same pair of shapeless trousers, elastic band and all, that I picked up at a thrift shop for $1. I shop so differently than how I thrift; I can spend hours flip-flopping between buy and not buy, all over something that's less than $10. Why? Beats me. But, in the end it was like but shit, it was 99 cents! And then I was all like saving my money, damn I'm hella happy, that's a bargin bitch! I guess Thrift Shop rings true, Macklemore and I have a lot more in common than I thought. But, you know, grandma's style not granddad's...okay, usually not granddad's.

ONE HUNDREDTH

 wearing: H&M black overalls, Modcloth black crop top, black cropped moto jacket via Nasty Gal, velvet flatforms via Free People, gifted Ecote red clutch, H&M black ankle socks

And so we hit 100. I started this blog nineteen months ago on July 15, 2011 and never did I really think I had the patience, time or, to be honest, clothing to last me this long. But I'm glad I did and I can't wait to see how this blog, and my style, continues to change and grow. It's always fun to compare my latest posts with my oldest posts, all whilst laughing a little and cringing a lot. What does the next 100 post have in stores? Who knows! Let's just wait and see, shall we? :)

As always, a big fat thank you to all of the amazing supporters I have, you are the loves of my life!

P.S. to everyone who hates on overalls, all I can say is, "haters gonnnn' hate." If they're so wrong than I don't want to be right, ever!

MY PAL MICKEY

This has become somewhat of a uniform for me nowadays. I love the androgyny of the Dolce Vita boots that adds a little feminine masculinity to everything and the boxiness of the denim jacket that is just too easy to toss on. A little sugary, a little sweet, I couldn't resist adding the cute yellow polka dotted headband to go with the red polka dotted dress. And, last but certainly not least, who doesn't love a good ol' Mickey tank? He's such a little cutie. Makes you want to run away to Disneyland doesn't it? Come spring break and that's exactly what I plan to do! A couple days in LA, with the sun, Goofy (my favorite) and ze best friend seems like the perfect way to lay low and play. No wet t-shirt contests and keg stands for this gal...for now anyways
