Remember when people thought denim on denim was social suicide? Well, I one-upped that and committed sartorial sin; full-on denim on denim ON DENIM. Albeit I did choose three different washes of denim to canoodle with but, nevertheless, it seems that the over-exhausted phrase "too much of a good thing," simply doesn't exist in my vocabulary nor my closet. So take that denim haters and rejoice my fellow denim enthusiasts!

Summer always makes me reevaluate my life, my decisions, basically my being as a whole and it gives me the time and energy I need to redirect my choices towards the path I want to be on. After a rough year, I'm throughly enjoying my laid-back, low-key schedule thus far and am happily loving my classes, my routine, my sleep schedule (8+ hours/night, what a luxury!), and my general aloneness. And all this extra time makes me think, a lot. Probably too much.

Looking back on my year, and the last few ones that passed by, I can pick and choose my "happiest" moments in time much like I pick out my favorite photos from my SD card, these moments are engraved into my memories like a snapshot, ready to be enlarged at any given time. I realize that these moments, as fleeting and insignificant as they seemed at the time, are what I cherish above all, and yes, that does include my shoes. They carry me through the tough times and help me appreciate what matter most in my life. As Ferris Bueller once eloquently said, "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it."

I'm not sure if it's the heat, the endless days, the minimal clothing needed, the cloudless skies, or what, but summer just feels free. It's not that I'm actually free, no, far from it, with my 10 units and 2 jobs, I'm strapped and obligated to give a flippin' f$*k this summer, but it inevitably just feels free, uninhibited, and unguarded. Sorry to be such a cliche but I now have Natasha Bedingfield's playful yet slightly husky voice filling my head with "Unwritten," and I'm sitting here smiling to myself. I'm a silly one.

In the spirit of free, I am loving the Valley of Harmony Top that Sugarlips Apparel sent me as it is the perfect summer top to grab and throw on or on top of anything and everything. I've already wore it a handful of times and I can tell it's going to be my go-to top for the hotter months. The floral romper peaks out in all the right places, making it a perfect mate for the lace. It's like they're playing a peaceful game of peek-a-boo with each other and I couldn't be happier.

apparel: blush parka (Taiwan), mint cutout sweater (UO), Ralph Lauren sleeveless button up (thrifted), denim shorts (F21)
footwear: raspberry spotted ankle socks (F21), brown booties (UO)
accessories: boxy sunglasses (UO), neon satchel (Target)

I couldn't think of a witty title, as per use, for this post but I knew that "mint" had to be a component of it and so, mint-->gum-->Britney Spears-->spearminta combination of my two favorites, food and pop culture,  and BOOM. Dunzo.

During the midst of finals, I was feeling rather gloomy (I wonder why) so I threw on as many colors as I could find while also trying to avoid circus clown territory. I think the baby pastels did the trick, no? Well, it definitely raised my spirits, so I guess mission accomplished. BOOM.

CAN I GET A WU WU?

vintage leopard bangle, forever 21, H&M
TBA, 5ONTHEDOT, wedges, velvet, fashion, shoes, solestruck

apparel: Jason Wu x Target "dot wheel" dress
footwear: TBA 5ONTHEDOT wedges (won from Solestruck), nylon heart ankle socks (f21)
accessories: vintage buckle bag (thrifted), vintage leopard bangle (gifted), assorted bracelets (f21 & H&M)

This is what I wore to the BARE Magazine's Issue 11 Launch Party a few weeks back. I love the teeny tiny buttoned-to-the-top-button collar, the itty bitty ditty dotty wheel spokes print, and the beautifully pleated knee-length skirt that never seems to wrinkle (thank god!). Jason Wu, even if it is for Target, impresses me to no end. So in all seriousness, can I get a woot woot for Wu Wu?

FEATHERS OF A PEACOCK

apparel: Boho button up (thrifted & diy'ed), shredded Levis high waisted shorts (thrifted)
footwear: Jamison booties (Dolce Vita), burnt orange socks (forever 21), leather engraved bracelet (Taiwan)
accessories: vintage Coach satchel (thrifted)

Surprise!! I'm a bona-fide peacock! This was my BIG surprise and if it isn't surprising enough for you, don't you dare rain on my teal-colored parade! Can't wait to strut, tut and eat some peanuts on a warm sandy beach somewhere, and if not, at least I'll still be a cool blue for some time. A very calculated and thought out decision that I finally took the plunge on (with a huge thanks to Janne for dying it), and I couldn't be more infatuated with the end results. Totally not the color I had anticipated but when has life ever turned out the way we planned?

Time to hit the books some more, only 4 finals and 5 days stand in the way between me and summer, the teeny tiny light at the end of this very dark and caffeinated tunnel. Pea-cock-a-doodle-toodles for now!

ADORE DIOR

apparel: vintage Dior top (Thrift Town), light denim top (Thrift Town), BDG denim jeans (Crossroads)
footwear: Dolce Vita Jamison
accessories: silver collar necklace (Berkeley Flea Market), vintage Coach satchel (Salvation Army)

Wonky sleep schedule, check. Stress eating commence, check. Ridiculously high coffee consumption, check. Hours and hours and hours of non-stop reading, check. Yup, it's RRR week (read, review & rest week), or as we like to call it, dead week. 8 more days until the end of my sophomore year, is dat shit cray or what?! My brain is still processing that fact, along with chapters and chapters of MCB.

Thrifted a vintage Dior top that kind of makes my eyes go loko when I stare at it too much, much like what it did to my heart when I saw the teeny tiny Dior label. Instant attraction, this is what love at first sight must feel like. Finally got to break out the vintage collar necklace I picked up at the Berkeley Flea Market a while back for merely $1, too good of a steal to pass on.

This is the last outfit post before some MAJOR changes happen, stay tuned! I'm completely pee-my-pants excited to show and tell!
